Caesars Entertainment Invests $160M in New Lake Tahoe Resort Experience

Caesars Entertainment is bringing a bold, modern vision to Lake Tahoe with the rebranding and transformation of Harveys Lake Tahoe into Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino. The resort is undergoing a $160 million, multi-phase overhaul and is set to formally launch on July 1. What makes this change special is that guests can still enjoy their stay throughout the renovation period.

The transformation aims to marry contemporary sophistication with Lake Tahoe’s serene alpine charm. Designed by the renowned Marnell Companies, the project spans 1.6 million square feet, and every element, right from the architecture to the interiors, has been carefully curated to deliver a seamless blend of elegance, energy, and a strong sense of place.

Phase one of the renovation, launching this summer, will see the launch of redesigned rooms, reimagined dining options, and a refreshed casino. Phase two will begin in the fall and extend into 2025, with the entire project expected to conclude by mid-2026.

What Patrons Can Expect

The full makeover of the 88,000-square-foot casino floor is one of the most striking aspects of the renovation. New flooring, lighting, contemporary tables and chairs, and large-scale digital screens are going to be installed in the area, according to Caesars Entertainment, to allow for an environment that is suited for lively gambling

New features, such as a High Limit Room and a World Series of Poker Room®, will give a degree of refinement and excitement consistent with the Caesars Republic brand. That will apply to the new cutting-edge slot machines as well.

The transformation extends far beyond the casino floor. Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe will renovate all rooms in the Remus Tower (formerly known as the Mountain Tower), and select suites will debut butler service, enhancing the guest experience with personalized attention. Simultaneously, the 2020 remodeled Romulus Tower (previously the Tahoe Tower) will undergo a refresh to maintain consistency throughout the resort’s accommodations.

Furthermore, as part of the transformation, Caesars Republic is enhancing its culinary and social offerings with new venues like Cleo’s Coffee and Cocktails, which serves as a café by day and a stylish lounge by night. The resort will also feature upscale dining experiences, including WOLF by Vanderpump and an expanded Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN, further positioning it as a top-tier food and entertainment destination in Lake Tahoe.

Caesars Entertainment’s leadership highlighted the resort’s transformation as a tribute to Lake Tahoe’s natural beauty and legacy. Its president, Anthony Carano, described the redesign as a bold step that would redefine regional luxury and impress guests. Similarly, SVP Karie Hall emphasized that the rebrand preserves Harveys’ heritage while introducing a modern hospitality experience that sets a new standard in the area.
