Penn National Gets Hold Of Pinnacle Entertainment And The Implications For Online Gambling Are Huge

For those of you who haven’t heard by now, Penn National Gambling announced very recently that it will be purchasing Pinnacle Entertainment and that all of the nitty gritty details of the transaction should be dealt towards the end of 2018. If you are clueless as to why any of this matters, well prepare to be enlightened, Penn National will go from holding more than twenty casino gambling areas within the United States to a total of 41 across many of the various states.

And yes, possibly the most exciting part of this whole story is that if Penn National has looked into acquiring Pinnacle Entertainment, then it has most certainly looked into the feasibility of their company being a part of online gambling. As everyone knows, online everything is basically the future. Here are the basics of the deal; Penn National has purchased Pinnacle Entertainment for a total of $2.8 billion in a combination of stocks and actual cash transactions, and while each company’s board of directors has approved the transaction, the whole thing should be finalized by the end of 2018, possibly even earlier.

The CEO of Penn National has been thought to say something along the lines of ‘”The Game is on/” when asked about the new merger and thus far, we wholeheartedly agree with him. An entry for Penn National into the world of online gaming will not only make the online gaming industry seem more legitimate and reachable to many a player, it will also vastly increase the accessibility of online gaming to all kinds of players from all different kinds of backgrounds. Thus leading to a much more even and diverse range of players participating within the online poker championships at the end of the year.
