BetMGM Goes Live in Michigan With the Launch of Sports Betting
Continuing on their bid to extend the footprint of their sports betting brand across the United States, MGM Resorts International, and GVC Holdings are taking their service to Michigan. BetMGM, both companies’ joint sports betting venture, will be among the first operators to take the very first sports bets in the state on March 11.
Michigan is now the fifth state in the country to launch a BetMGM sportsbook. This will be a pretty exciting development for the residents of the state who have been eagerly waiting for the arrival of sports betting. Known for its unique and innovative take on sportsbooks, the BetMGM will treat its Michigan customers to amazing experiences. Its retail locations are set to be head turners thanks to their sports bar look and feel. This comes complete with booths, high-top tables as well as both food and beverage options.
“Beyond sports, we continue to offer new and exciting amenities at our properties as we’ve found our sports bettors appreciate world-class hotels, restaurants, and entertainment; BetMGM allows us to incorporate them into the ecosystem of everything MGM has to offer.”
Scott Butera, President of Interactive Gaming for MGM Resorts.
As a matter of fact, the officials concerned with the BetMGM brands have confirmed that the Detroit, Michigan launch is going to be very important going forward. This is because it is expected to be a sweeping recreation of the MGM sportsbook brand which will be extended to all of the operator’s other operations across the United States.
One of the other places that these new changes will be seen is in Las Vegas, Nevada where BetMGM also recently launched its operations. Its entry into Las Vegas was highly anticipated particularly because of its excellent reputation. Still, there is more to come.
Boosting Customer Acquisition
As it continues pursuing its expansion bid, BetMGM has also been very busy inking partnerships that will help it market itself to even more customers. Its freshly expanded partnership with Yahoo Sports is one such agreement and the company is hoping this will help to further boost customer acquisition by making their products more seamless with each other.
The goal of the seamless integration is to prevent players from having to go through the hassle of switching between their apps. As such, with features such as a single wallet and a single account between BetMGM and Yahoo Fantasy, both brands will be able to easily cross-sell their products.
Yahoo Sports’ and BetMGM’s partnership is still new but it will not be long before all the features they are promising spread out across all of the operations. Michigan sports bettors certainly have a lot to look forward to as they usher in sports betting.
