Pragmatic Play Gives Fat Panda a Fresh Identity with New POP Slot Brand
Sometimes a rebrand is about more than a new logo. In Pragmatic Play’s case, it also reflects how online slot developers are increasingly designing games for players looking for simpler mechanics, faster gameplay, and a more approachable casino experience.
The supplier has officially retired its Fat Panda brand in favor of Pragmatic Play POP, a new label aimed at casual and first-time slot players. Rather than introducing an entirely separate portfolio, the company is refreshing a selection of its most recognizable games with brighter visuals, streamlined gameplay, and features designed to make them easier to pick up.
Classic Slots Get the POP Treatment
The first wave of releases includes POP editions of some of Pragmatic Play’s biggest franchises, including Gates of Olympus, Sweet Bonanza, Zeus vs Hades, and Starlight Princess. Existing Fat Panda titles will also transition to the new branding as part of the rollout.
According to Pragmatic Play, the POP range focuses on straightforward gameplay, higher hit frequencies, and a softer visual style intended to appeal to players who may find traditional slot mechanics more intimidating. The company says the move broadens its portfolio by creating games that are easier to understand without moving away from the themes that helped make its flagship titles so popular.
Director of Public Relations Sharon McHugh said the new brand represents a lighter, more playful side of Pragmatic Play’s slot portfolio. She added that the company has an extensive roadmap planned, with more of its fan-favorite games set to receive the POP treatment over the coming months, including a refreshed version of Zeus.
The rebrand comes as online casino suppliers continue to diversify their portfolios beyond traditional high volatility slots. With operators increasingly looking to attract newer audiences alongside experienced players, simplified game formats have become a growing focus across the industry. Pragmatic Play’s POP initiative reflects that shift, offering familiar titles with a more accessible feel while keeping the gameplay recognizable for fans of the original releases.
New Releases Scheduled Through December
The rollout begins with Gates of Olympus POP on August 31, followed by Triple Hop Pots on September 15 and Pelican Payday on October 6.
Later in the year, Sweet Bonanza POP is scheduled for October 20, Zeus vs Hades POP arrives on November 17, while Starlight Princess POP and Mahjong Wins POP are set for December 1 and December 15, respectively.
